Alistair completed his Undergraduate degree at the Mackintosh School of Architecture and his Postgraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde, graduating with a Master’s Degree in 2012 and subsequently qualifying as an Architect in March 2015.  Prior to joining UNIT Architects in October 2016, Alistair worked for 3 years at London-based Claridge Architects, where he was involved in a variety of urban projects across all work stages from Feasibility and Planning through to Tender and Construction. Notable projects include the renovation and extension of a family home in a Conservation area in Kensington, a large-scale mixed-use development in Barnet and a residential development on a prominent urban site in Southwark. Alistair also worked previously for award-winning Scottish firm Dualchas Architects and their sister company, Hebridean Homes, initially in the practice’s base on the Isle of Skye and latterly in their Glasgow office, where he utilised his design skills and planning expertise to achieve planning permission for various private houses in sensitive locations with stringent planning guidelines. Alistair was instrumental in bringing new projects into the practice and guiding clients through the initial stages of the design and planning process.Since joining UNIT Architects, Alistair has been working on the renovation of a one-off house for a private client, and hopes to further broaden his experience and to utilise the skills and experience honed in previous roles.
