Ross Hutchinson


Ross founded UNIT Architects in 2007. Under his direction, UNIT Architects has grown to become a practice of increasing renown, working for a portfolio of highly acclaimed Clients across a diverse range of scales and sectors. Ross has been responsible for directing the design of the practice’s key projects including both of the £200m major mixed use regeneration projects Whitechapel Square inTower Hamlets and Chapel Square in Ilford. In addition to running the practice, Ross has also been a member of the London Borough of Wandsworth’s Design Review Panel since 2014. Prior to establishing UNIT Architects, Ross gained food retail sector experience working for Saunders Partnership before joining his former Bartlett tutors at Allford Hall Monaghan Morris in 2000. Over the next seven years at AHMM, Ross designed and delivered a wide range of high profile and award winning projects which included a new-build private house in St. Johns Wood; offices in Camden; the first phase of the Barbican refurbishment; a hotel with family housing in Birmingham as well as Barking Central, the key first phase of the multi-award winning major regeneration of Barking’s Town Centre. Ross is involved in the design, development and review of all projects and shares responsibility for the management and strategic direction of the practice.
